Cookie policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies the 3D Cave Viewer website uses, what they are for and how to manage your choices, in line with the guidelines of the Italian data protection authority and applicable EU cookie rules.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on the device of whoever visits them. Similar technologies (such as the browser’s local storage) serve similar purposes. They can be technical, necessary for the site to work, or used for statistical analysis or profiling.
This site does not use profiling cookies and does not track your activity for advertising purposes.
Technical cookies and storage
Always active: they are needed to make the site work and to remember your choices. They do not require consent.
- Storing your cookie choice (so the banner isn’t shown again on every visit).
- Any interface display preferences.
They are stored in your browser’s local storage and are not shared with third parties.
Anonymous statistics (with consent)
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate form, how many people visit the site and which pages are viewed most, and Vercel Speed Insights to measure page performance (load times and Web Vitals). Both tools are cookie-free, do not store identifiers on your device and do not identify you: the data is anonymous and aggregated. They are activated only if you give consent from the banner; you can withdraw it at any time.
Third-party services
To run the site we rely on a few external providers. As part of this, your browser may share technical data with them (for example your IP address), without any profiling cookies being set:
- Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.) - the site’s typefaces are loaded from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. Google does not set cookies for this function.
- Web3Forms - receives data only when you voluntarily submit the contact form.
- Vercel - site hosting and cookie-free anonymous statistics.
How the site processes personal data is described in the Privacy policy.

How to manage consent
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, decline or set your preferences. You can change your choice at any time:
- by reopening the panel with the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom of every page;
- by clearing the site’s data from your browser settings.
Declining anonymous statistics does not affect your ability to use the site in any way.
